Published - Thursday, April 10, 2008 Weather forecast is cold, cold with likely more snow The National Weather Service has predicted that temperatures won’t reach into the 60s for the next seven days in Vernon County. In fact, according to the NWS, the high temperatures for Friday and Saturday are 39 and 38, respectively. While temperatures reached close to 60 degrees last Saturday, this area has not had a true 60-degree day since last October. By this time last year, Vernon County already had one 80-degree day on the books. The NWS predicted a 70 percent chance of snow Friday and Friday night, with more snow in the forecast (50 percent chance) for Saturday. Also, wind gusts of 28-to-29 miles per hour were predicted for Friday and Saturday. The National Weather Service had what it called a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” in effect for Vernon County on Thursday morning.
