A vehicle went out of control and struck an Amish buggy, Tuesday afternoon.
Jacqueline Menn, 47, of Norwalk, was driving southbound about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday on Hwy. U near Melrose Road in the town of Jefferson when she lost control and struck an Amish buggy driven by Levi Miller, 18, of Cashton, head-on, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
The horse was thrown onto the hood and windshield of Menn’s vehicle. Menn and passenger, Jenna Menn, 15, were treated at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, the department stated.
Miller and passenger, Jacob Miller, 20, also of Cashton, had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The horse was euthanized at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
